The woman who is suing Michael Jordan for child support was allegedly begged by her son to file the suit, all this according to TMZ.com.   Pamela Smith is suing Jordan for paternity and child support in a case involving her 16-year old son.  The boy was born back in 1995, when Michael was still married to his ex-wife Juanita Vanoy.

Some would say that this case is an example of why NBA athletes should not get married until they are over the age of 35.  The temptations on the road can be great, and the women left at home should either know what they are getting into or not get married at all.  But then again, Juanita got several hundred million in the divorce settlement, so maybe that’s what she wanted.

It is reported that the woman always had a good relationship with Michael and never needed the money.  But her son, Grant Reynolds (aka Taj) wanted Michael to be force to acknowledge him as his son and took his battle to Youtube.  In the video, Taj told the world that Michael was his father, and he also asked his mother to file a suit declaring the results of the paternity test.

Pamela’s alleged intention was not to embarrass Jordan, but to allow his father to play a bigger role in his life.  TMZ says that Jordan has given money to the family in the past, but that they were expected to keep quiet about the boy being Michael’s child.  Well, it appears that the cat is out of the bag.

Michael Jordan:  I Am NOT The Father!

Michael Jordan doesn't need Maury Povich to tell him he's not the daddy, he says he knows it already ... and filed documents today requesting the paternity case filed against him be dismissed.

As TMZ first reported, Pamela Smith filed docs in Fulton County, GA in an attempt to establish the NBA legend as father of her son, Grant Pierce Jay Jordan Reynolds, aka Taj.

Jordan's lawyer filed to have the case dismissed today, saying paternity of the teen had already been established ... and #23 was not the father.

MJ's rep released a statement saying, "Public records show that the paternity of the child was established in a prior case in this same court many years ago and that Michael Jordan is not the father."

The statement continued, "It is unfortunate that well-known figures are the target of these kind of claims. Michael Jordan will vigorously defend himself and his reputation."
