Police Arrest Man Over Defilement Of Daughters, Grandchild

The Police on Wednesday arrested a 48-year old man, who slept with his daughters and  infant grandchild.

Parading the suspect, the spokesperson for the Lagos Police Command in Lagos State, DSP Ngozi Braide, said the suspect confessed that he slept with his two  daughters and a grandchild .

She said that medical report also indicated that the girls had lost their virginity, adding that the children would undergo HIV and AIDS tests.

 ``This is a serious case against children. If he is found guilty, he may face life imprisonment. We have concluded our investigation and the man will be charged to court on Thursday,’’ Braide said.

The wife of the suspect said the problem started in 2007 when her first daughter, who was 13, reported that her father was sleeping with her.

``I travelled to Abuja for catering business in 2007. At about 2 a.m, my first daughter called me and reported that her father makes love to her.

`` I came back from the trip and ask him about the case, he pleaded for forgiveness and promised not to do it again.

``The incident happened many times. I reported the case to his family, they did not do anything. They supported their son. I parked out of his house to a rented apartment.

``I returned to his house in 2011 after our family members pleaded that he will not do it again. After returning, he started sleeping with the second daughter, who is now seven.

`` Any time I complained about it, he will pursue me with hammer.

``I could not bear the insult and pains my children and I are going through, I went to report to the police on Wednesday, March 13, after he defiled our grand-child of one year and three months.

``I went out for hawking, before coming back, he went and picked the child from school under the pretence that I requested him to pick her up.

``He took the infant home, sent other children to buy beans and locked the door.

``When other children heard the child crying, they rushed in only to discover their father sweating, while the baby was crying seriously. I came back and met the child still crying.

 ``I removed her pampers only to discovered blood coming out from her private part,’’ she alleged, adding, ``I rushed to report to the police immediately. ’’

The suspect, however, said that his wife and children were lying against him.

He said the baby was brought from the school crying, adding that he had nothing to do with his children’s private parts.
