Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar

National President and Chairman Lagos, Western and Northern Areas, of the Apostolic Church Nigeria, Pastor Gabriel Olutola, has said the Federal Government is keeping the nation’s insecurity problems to itself.

He said this at a press conference on his 80th birthday celebration in Lagos, on Tuesday.

Olutola submitted that only the Federal Government knows the truth on the prevailing insecurity in parts of the country, “but has decided to keep it hidden”.

He said, “No one really knows what is happening, because the Federal Government and people in authorities are keeping the problem to themselves.

“They will stay in their caucus, discuss it, know what they are encountering and remain silent.”

Olutola said in order to achieve good governance in the system, “those elected into political offices are to live up to the standard expected of them by the people.”

He said the Boko Haram menace was not to promote or protect religion, saying both Christianity and Islam promote peace and not bloodshed.

He said, “Nigerians should continue to pray so that the Boko Haram sect can realise that the people they are killing are fellow human beings like themselves.

“I do not believe that this act is part of religion, because the two embraced religion in Nigeria do not teach killings of people or creating problems. They both preach peace.”

Meanwhile, Prebyster, Ojodu Zonal Province of Church of God, Rev. Matthew Atchor, has called on  government at all levels to empower the Nigerian youths.

Atchor, who spoke to our correspondent via an electronic mail on Monday however attributed the series of bombings in the northern part of Nigeria to the idleness of the youths.
