Quack Doctor In Lagos State Damages Woman’s Uterus

A herbalist who claimed to be a medical doctor, has landed in trouble after he allegedly forced pepper and other obnoxious substances into a woman’s private part and in the process, damaged her uterus.
This incident happened in Ebute-Metta, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, when the herbalist, Ayenoro Funsho, claimed he wanted to remove fibroid from the woman’s womb.
The 42-year old Funsho who runs a herbal home called Dinah Natural Herbal and Maternity Clinic at 81, Abeokuta Street, Ebute-Metta, allegedly collected N170,000 from the victim under the false pretence of removing fibriod from her womb.
P.M.NEWS gathered that the 36-year old woman had only a child since she got married some years ago and since then she was unable to conceive again.
She seeking for solution before she was introduced to Funsho, who allegedly told her that it was fibroid that caused her barrenness and promised to remove it without her undergoing any operation.
The desperate woman paid the money and Funsho took her to his clinic where he prepared some obnoxious substances added pepper to it, stuffed it inside her private part and asked her to go home.
The victim was in severe pains for days and her husband took her to a specialist hospital on Lagos Island where doctors confirmed that her private part and womb have been damaged.
The angry husband went to the police at SCID, Panti, Yaba and reported what happened and Funsho was arrested and charged to court for the alleged offence.
He is facing a four-count charge of administering obnoxious substance on her private part which caused her grievous harm, impersonation, recklessly and negligently treating the victim, before the presiding Magistrate, Mrs M.O. Tanimola.
When the charge was read to him, he pleaded not guilty.
The court granted him bail in the sum of N2 million with two sureties in like sum.
The court also ordered that one of the sureties must be a medical doctor, while the other must be a land owner in Lagos State.
