We know Boko Haram so include US (Northen Govs) in your Amnesty Committee

Speakers of the 19 northern states have asked the Federal Government to include northern governors in its Amnesty Committee that was set up to work out modalities on granting amnesty to members of the Boko Haram sect.

In a communiqué made available to Channels Television in Minna, hours after a closed door meeting, the Speakers while commending the federal government for taking steps that will lead towards negotiating and possible acceptance of the amnesty by the sect however noted that without involving the governors, the whole idea may not achieve much.

The Speakers also called on state governors, elders and traditional rulers from the region to join forces with the federal government in its effort to return peace to the troubled region.

The communique also noted that since the advent of the Boko Haram insurgency, the economy of the whole northern states have nosedived, a situation they said is not good for the overall development of the region. Channels
