« on: June 17, 2012, 03:37:18 PM »
The Super Falcons on Saturday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos defeated Zimbabwe’s Mighty Warriors 4-0 to qualify for this year’s 2012 African Women Championship in Equatorial Guinea in November.

The African champions qualified on 6-0 aggregate having won the first leg 2-0 in Harare two weeks ago.

African Woman Footballer of the Year, Perpetua Nkwocha, opened score as early as the sixth minute while striker Desire Oparanozie extended the lead in the 14th minute.

Esther Sunday scored Nigeria’s third just two minutes later.

The experienced Stella Mbachu put the game beyond the visitors in the 55th minute with the Falcons’ fourth goal when her well-taken shot beat the advancing Zimbabwean goalkeeper Onai Chingowo.
