How do I stop feeling so awful about this?

I recently found out from a friend that my ex is dating someone who he claims is "just like me-- basically the same person in looks and personality"  Why am I so hurt by this and how can I get over it?

Of course, I looked the other girl up (and found out we're actually in the same major at school).  Stupid, I know.  I don't think she looks anything like me at all (I'm almost insulted), and I feel guilty even thinking these negative things when none of this is her fault-- she never did anything to me, and I'm not one to be so superficial.... I just can't seem to help it...

Its very funny how we tell ourselves we have moved on and the thought of ur ex seeps into ur thoughts every now and then,that is not movin on,its just denial.
But brother I advice you geninely move on.
