Gunmen Kill Five in Jos, Plateau State
« on: June 24, 2012, 10:07:38 pm »
Unknown gunmen in the early hours of yesterday wiped out a family of five while one person was critically injured in a pre-dawn raid at Tidiu Village in Kombun Ward of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Eyewitnesses said the men started shooting sporadically at the people having gained entry into the village and killed the five people leaving only one wounded.

Close neighbours who heard what was happening could not come out to render the needed assistance. But others woke up to discover the tragedy and raised an alarm. The victims are all Christians who had been living peacefully with their Muslim neighbours who are Fulani.

An eyewitness, Paul Sule, said "Although we do not have any evidence, we are suspecting that the attackers could be Fulani herdsmen. We could not trace them. The killing was professionally carried out with military precision."
