Boko Haram kidnaps Borno commissioner’s father

The attackers stormed the victim’s home on Sunday.

Eighty year- old father of Borno state commissioner for Women Affiars, Inna Galadima, was kidnapped Sunday by suspected Boko Haram members, sources said.

Mr. Galadima was picked by the gunmen in his Maiduguri family home.

Though details of the abduction were sketchy, sources close to the family said the kidnappers did leave a note although the content of the note was not disclosed.

According to the family source; ”three gunmen stormed Galadima’s house in a Volkswagen Golf car, shoot sporadically and forced the old man into their car.”

“He is aged and has some health issue. We’re really concerned about his condition of health now. To worsen the situation, there is no GSM service to contact the people. It is a big problem and we’re confused now”, he said.

PREMIUM TIMES gathered that the embattled commissioner was seen at Government House Maiduguri where she might have probably gone to intimate the governor, Kashim Shettima.
