Manchester United Release 4 Players - Other Transfer News

Manchester United have confirmed the release of four players, as Sir Alex Ferguson continues preparation for the 2012/13 campaign. Players are free to join or leave clubs from 1 July, and the Red Devils have released a statement on their official website.

Michael Owen and Tomas Kuszczak are the most notable departures having made 113 first-team appearances between them, alongside 18-year-old goalkeepers Liam Jacob and Joe Coll, who also leave Old Trafford.

Kuszczak joins up with Npower Championship side Brighton and Hove Albion after signing a two-year deal with Gus Poyet's Seagulls side, while teenager Jacob has signed for League One outfit Oldham Athletic. Owen and Coll remain free agents, but the 32-year-old former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Newcastle striker is believed to be being courted by a host of Premier League clubs.
