Frozen flora: the icy flower art of Marisa Culatto – in pictures

UK-based artist Marisa Culatto creates still lifes of vegetation by putting arrangements in water, freezing them and then taking photographs of the flowery ice blocks. The series, Flora, is all about beauty and “the loss of it through age, and the futile attempt to hold on to it,” says Culatto, who sees it as a twist on the classical still life genre.
