Mikel Obi leaving Chelsea to Monaco for 16 million, Okay maybe its still a rumour too, but with Galatasaray and now Monaco, It looks set that Mikel is going away from the bridge

Monaco have emerged as the latest club keen on a move for Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel, amid speculation he is heading out the door this summer.

The 26-year-old has been strongly linked with a Stamford Bridge exit this summer, with Turkish side Galatasaray the first to announce their interest last month.

Yesterday, it was reported Trabsonspor were also keen to take the Nigerian to the Super Lig, but now Monaco appear to be gate-crashing the Turkish clubs’ advances.

Mikel, who joined Chelsea in 2006, is set to fetch around £16m with Blues boss Jose Mourinho looking to bring Nemanja Matic back to west London from Benfica. (The Metro)

Mikel is not Jose Mourinho’s type of player even though he has been top-quality in the last few years, so it will be very interesting to see just where he ends up this summer.
