FAO reinforces Sierra Leone's capacities on joint health risk assessment

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in collaboration with the World Animal Health Organisation and One Health Platform in Sierra Leone supported the establishment and strengthening of the Joint Risk Assessment (JRA) throught a five-day workshop which started on 26 August, attended by 30 participants drawn from the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS), the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF), Environment Protection Agency (EPA), and Universities representing animal health, public health, environment (including wildlife), food safety, and academia. In addition, partners including the Tripartite collaboration between FAO, the World Health Organization (WHO) and World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National One Health Platform also collaborated in the facilitation of this workshop.
