Usain Bolt was presented with the 2012 International Association for Sports Journalists (AIPS) Male Athlete of the Year award for his outstanding performance at the Olympic Games in London last year.

The Jamaican sprinter received the award Saturday shortly after he won his third straight men’s 200 metres title at the 14th IAAF World Championships in Athletics at the Luzhniki Stadium, reports CMC.

The award from the AIPS America was presented by Trinidad Express sports journalist Kwame Laurence on behalf of the continental section of AIPS and witnessed by other Caribbean journalists.

Bolt and Colombian female cyclist Mariana Pajon were named the top sports personalities in Latin American and the Caribbean in 2012.

Pajon received her award at a ceremony in Medellin, Colombia earlier this year but Bolt was unable to attend.

In accepting the award from AIPS America, Bolt said: “Yeah man. Appreciate it. Thanks.

Usain Bolt wants to join Man United - set for Moyes trials

New Manchester United manager David Moyes can expect a meeting with the world's fastest man Usain Bolt any day now, as the 100m champion wants to turn to football once he retires from athletics, with United being his favourite club.

According to The Daily Star, Bolt, who won the 100 metres gold medal in Moscow last Sunday at the World Athletics Championships, is always a man in a hurry, despite his typically Caribbean laid-back style and he wants to meet new Red Devils manager Moyes as soon as he possibly can.

The runner said that he is waiting for Sir Alex to put the meeting together with Moyes, so he could let him know that the athletics champ was pretty much part of the Man U team.

Bolt said that there is only one team he wants to play for, once he retires from athletics, which is Manchester United. (ANI)

A triple strike for the lightening bolt as Usain Bolt took his Moscow World Athletics Championships gold medal tally to three on Sunday.

Bolt lead the Jamaican 4X100m team as they won the gold medal in the race with the United States claiming silver and Britain taking bronze.

The 26-year-old was joined by 100m bronze medalist Nesta Carter, Kemar Bailey-Cole and Nickel Ashmeade as they won the event in 37.36sec.

With this win, Bolt jumped to the top of the all-time World Championships medals table with eight gold and two silver, edging sprint legend Carl Lewis who has eight gold, one silver and one bronze.

After the 4X100m relay win Bolt celebrated with his teammates and threw his running shoes to excited fans in the stadium.

The sprint treble is a repeat of Bolt's London Olympics performance where like he did here he claimed the 100m, 200m and 4X100m relay gold medals.

Bolt had earlier won the 100m and 200m races claiming the gold medal in both with ease.
