“According to some of the news circulating on Social media, below are the pictures of FCE students receiving 1000 naira each as scholarships from the member representing their Constituency, Mayo Belwa.
“The honourable member must have done a wonderful job for assisting his Constituents with 1000 naira each. But, Just because of 1000 naira you must post the picture of someone face on Social media? This is honestly a total disgrace. Kai ana iskanci a Nigeria,” a Facebook user, Modibbo Bobboji, said.

Another user, Mohammed Walid wrote, “Commom 1k sai an dauki hoto? As wise and responsible youth/students you should not allow politicians to use you this way. Sad!! Seriously mayo belwa, we lack a representative.
“A member cannot afford to give less than 50 students N5,000 each. He's not a promise keeping leader at all.”
Gadaffi Abdullahi said, “So to give students 1k you need to snap them and post it to the world? Our nowadays politicians are total disgrace and failure.”
Abdul Gurin wrote, “Even me as nobody from nowhere having nothing, I can afford to double it to 100 people. Imagine a member that has been elected to represent his host community.”
Meanwhile, the personal assistant to the lawmaker, Awwal Garba said the N1000 wasn’t a scholarship but “assistance to their academic progress.”
He said, “The students approached the honourable to assist them after being deceived by someone who asked them to make a list, which at the end of the day, failed them. The students were full of joy and gratitude as the honourable kept his words and put a share in their academic progress.”
