Former Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez is relishing the prospect of dumping Tottenham out of the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The Marseille ace has revealed ‘beating Spurs every time was a great joy’ with the forward set to start at the Orange Velodrome.

The ex-Barcelona winger has featured against Spurs 11 times in his career, where he has been on the winning side on four occasions.

Sanchez is one of four Gunners that could be in action against Antonio Conte’s side in the crunch clash.

Matteo Guendouzi and Sead Kolasinac are also on the French club’s books, while Nuno Tavares is on a season-long loan from the Emirates Stadium.

Sanchez, who won the Copa America twice with his native Chile, scored three goals against Spurs during his time in England.

The 33-year-old banged in two goals during his time at Arsenal, while he also scored for Manchester United against the north London giants.

And he knows a fourth goal could knock Spurs out of the European Cup with Marseille needing a win to advance through to the knockout stage.

Tottenham only need a point to progress into the last-16, but defeat could see them drop down into the Europa League.

Speaking ahead of the match, Sanchez said: “I have great affection for Arsenal from my time there.

“I have some great memories with everyone at the club, especially the fans.

“Beating Spurs every time was a great joy. It was very special and those are memories that I hold dear to my heart.

“Every single player has motivation to play and win. We all want to bring the victory back.

“In the dressing room, there is a lot of passion.

“Playing in front of the fans with their atmosphere is super important and that will drive us on.”

Sanchez knows all about the danger Conte’s side possess having worked with the Italian at Inter Milan with the pair winning the Serie A title together.

Commenting on Conte, he remarked: “We had a great experience together but he’s a very demanding coach.

“If you don’t give 100 per cent on the pitch he drops you for the next game.”
