Brighton are lining up Lille midfielder Carlos Baleba to replace soon-to-be Chelsea man Moises Caicedo, talkSPORT understands.

The Seagulls are set to pocket a British record fee of £115million for Caicedo as he makes his way to the Blues.

He played all but one of their Premier League matches and shined on the south coast, with Chelsea now securing his services.

Caicedo will undergo a medical at the west London side on Monday as they continue to spend heavy in the transfer market.

Although Brighton are close to losing another huge asset, it appears they have already found his replacement.

Lille star Baleba has been identified as a player they want to bring to the club this summer.

The 19-year-old is valued at £20milllion, just a fraction of the money they will get from the Caicedo sale.

Baleba has made 22 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, providing two assists since his debut last August.

The Cameroonian also played 61 minutes in their opening match of the new season, a 1-1 draw against Nice.

Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi admitted last week that he has ‘already forgotten’ about Caicedo amid his links with Chelsea.

Liverpool are showed an interest in the 21-year-old but he is now set to complete a move to Stamford Bridge.

Life without Caicedo got off to a great start for the Seagulls as they beat Luton 4-1 in their Premier League opener.

They have also lost Alexis Mac Allister to Liverpool and Robert Sanchez to Chelsea this summer.

However, given their performance against the Hatters on Saturday, the Seagulls may very well be just fine without them.
