Ronaldo scored just once for Portugal at the 2022 World Cup, however, the 38-year-old has rekindled his international form in Euro 2024 qualifying.

The former Manchester United man scored their opener after just nine minutes with an easy finish from close range.

He ran towards the corner flag and leaped into the air, with many expecting him to do his famous ‘Siuuu’ celebration.

Ronaldo landed with his legs at a wide stance, but then changed the pose to his eyes being shut with his hands crossed on his chest.

The Al Nassr star has only started to use the second celebration in recent months, with this one a tribute to how he acts when asleep.

Portugal went on to hit Luxembourg for five as Ronaldo added a second before Joao Felix, Bernardo Silva, Otavio and Rafael Leao also found the back of the net.

Ronaldo has now scored four goals in his country’s first two qualification games for next year’s tournament.

He has also netted 15 goals in his last eight European qualifiers for Portugal, who are already looking good to feature at Euro 2024.

Ronaldo made history in their opening match against Liechtenstein as he became the most capped player in international football history with his 197th Portugal appearance.

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus forward also became the first player to score at least 100 competitive international goals.
