Cristiano Ronaldo has no loyalty to Manchester United and would join Liverpool if he could, insists Gabby Agbonlahor.

The Red Devils superstar, 37, is still trying to force a move out of Old Trafford to compete in the Champions League next season.

Despite 18 league goals from the Portugal sensation, United endured a woeful 2021/22 campaign and condemned themselves to Europa League football.

Ronaldo holds the record for most goals, assists and appearances in the Champions League, having competed in Europe’s elite competition for 19 consecutive seasons.

After talks with United officials, including new manager Erik ten Hag, on Tuesday – it is understood Ronaldo remains intent on leaving.

However, the Red Devils have no plans to sell, with one year left on the striker’s contract, and there appears to be a shortage of Champions League clubs willing to sign him.

Bayern Munich and Chelsea have both ruled themselves out of the running in recent weeks, while Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo shut down rumours linking Ronaldo to the Spanish club.

Cerezo’s statement came amid protests from Atletico fans over the possible arrival of Ronaldo, who famously haunted them during his time at arch-rivals Real Madrid and also at Juventus.

But according to Aston Villa legend Agbonlahor, Ronaldo would have no problem joining a rival club to achieve his career goals.

“Cristiano Ronaldo would join Liverpool this summer, if he could,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.

“They are big rivals of Man United but it’s about Ronaldo.

“He will go anywhere he can still play Champions League football, add to his record and win titles.

“I don’t think Ronaldo has any loyalty to United, Real Madrid or Juventus.”
