World Cup favourites Brazil will face the previous finalists Croatia for a place in the last four in Qatar.

A Selecao put down a marker for the rest of the tournament after smashing South Korea 4-1 to move within three games of glory.

Croatia were far less convincing in their last 16 match as they came from behind to squeeze past Japan on penalties following a 1-1 draw.

They now face an incredible task to repeat their stunning 2018 heroics in which they made it to the final only to come undone by France.

Croatia previously faced Brazil during the opening game of the World Cup in 2014, in which the South Americans ran out 3-1 winners on home turf.

Croatia v Brazil: What has been said?

Jason Cundy was far from impressed with Brazil’s celebrations during their World Cup victory over South Korea.

Speaking on talkSPORT after the match, he said: “When I see them, the four of them lining up doing a dance routine that they practiced from the training ground after seven minutes in against South Korea, I’m like, ‘Come on, you are Brazil’.

“You should be able to go into this tournament, just do the job in hand. If you want to dance, do it at the full-time whistle. They’re going over to the gaffer, third goal, doing the chicken dance.

“That is one of the most embarrassing things I have ever seen at the World Cup, you’re playing South Korea. I expected Brazil to win comfortably, in fact it was more comfortable than I thought. I got angry when I was watching it.

“The piece de resistance is when they got the gaffer doing whatever it is, the turkey or the chicken whatever they ended up doing, Richarlison when he does the old man walk. Imagine that was Gareth Southgate, what would people say?

“I fell out of love with Brazil tonight, I feel out of love with that arrogance, that cockiness. I hope someone sticks it on them. I looked at that and felt cringey.”
