Darren Bent believes West Ham would be a good move for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

It’s been suggested Everton could sell their forward in the summer amid worrying financial results.

The Toffees reported losses of £121million last term and almost £373million over the last three years, with financial fair play allowing for maximum combined losses of £105 million over that period.

As a result, the Merseysiders are preparing to make wholesale changes in order to make the club more sustainable. Brazilian forward Richarlison has also been linked with a move away.

Calvert-Lewin has endured an injury-hit campaign in which he’s managed just 10 appearances in the Premier League.

But after netting 21 times for the Toffees last term there’s no doubt over his quality.

And if Calvert-Lewin does end up leaving Goodison Park, Bent believes West Ham would suit him down to the ground.

However, Bent warned Everton may have to lower their understood valuation of £60million if they’re to get a deal done for the 25-year-old.

On who Calvert-Lewin could move to, Bent said on Drive: “I think for Calvert-Lewin, West Ham. They need another centre forward, they cross the ball.

“If Everton ask for £60million no one’s buying him for that.”

When asked how much Calvert-Lewin’s worth, Bent added: “£35-40million.”

As fate would have it, Everton go to West Ham at the weekend as Frank Lampard looks to steer the Merseysiders away from the relegation zone.

Everton are currently 17th in the Premier League table and just three points above Watford.

However, a win over Newcastle in their last outing has gives them the chance to establish a cushion on the Hornets.
