Kevin De Bruyne notched up his 11th assist of the season in Manchester City’s 4-0 win against Southampton

De Bruyne has been in incredible form this season having chipped in with nine assists in the top-flight so far – 11 in all competitions.

And his inch-perfect pass for Foden‘s sumptuous lob was his 95th assist in the Premier League as he moved into the top five providers list at the expense of Arsenal legend Bergkamp.

It was his 94th assist in City colours having provided one during his time at Chelsea as he overtakes David Silva to become his club’s leading creator in the Premier League.

And he has managed to leapfrog Silva in 93 games fewer than the Spanish magician.

Only Frank Lampard (102), Wayne Rooney (103), Cesc Fabregas (111) and Ryan Giggs (162) are ahead of the ex-Wolfsburg maestro in terms of assists.

His City team-mate Foden is thriving as a result of De Bruyne’s service, with the 22-year-old one of the standout players of the campaign so far.

He has already fired in seven goals in 12 games this term – six in the league – while also chipping in with three assists.

Foden has now scored in three games in a row after getting on the score sheet against Wolves before his hat-trick against Manchester United last week.

Not wanting to be outdone by Foden and De Bruyne, Erling Haaland brought up his 20th goal of the season – after missing two guilt-edged chances.

The Norway international, 22, smashed home from close range in the second half to put Pep Guardiola’s men 4-0 up.

Already his 15th top-flight goal, he has scored as many as City’s top scorer De Bruyne managed last campaign.

And in another incredible stat, he is just the second City player to fire home in seven straight league games since Sergio Aguero in 2019.
