A Manchester City fan attracted ridicule on social media for deciding to pay for a treble tattoo – before the club has achieved the feat.

The Premier League side must beat Inter in the Champions League final to call themselves treble winners having already won a domestic double.

However, one supporter, who goes by the name stuart3108 on TikTok, got the inking on his calf which shows the City emblem accompanied by the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League trophies.

With the title ‘treble winner 2023’, the tattoo is ultimate show of faith in Pep Guardiola’s side going into Saturday’s clash.

Seen by many as the missing piece of the Guardiola’s jigsaw, a victory in Europe’s premier competition would cement City’s place as arguably the best club in world football right now.

While Stuart3108 may be feeling confident, other football fans haven’t been quite so understanding.

One fan wrote on Twitter when pictures of the now infamous calf emerged: “I hope Inter win,” with another simply asking: “Why do people do this?”

A Man City supporter said: “I’m a City fan and we need to calm down we haven’t won the champions league yet.”

A third said: “I’ll never ever understand why people get tattoos like this before the game! Not easier to just wait until it’s all over and it’s actually won? Idiot.”

Another commented: “”Never understood people who do this,” while one more fan simply said: “I really hope this backfires.”
