Arsenal ace Folarin Balogun has hinted that he could leave the club this summer amid a fine campaign for Reims.

The striker has been in searing form for the Ligue 1 side, scoring 18 times in all competitions and leading the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar and two behind Kylian Mbappe in the league.

The 21-year-old is set to return to the Emirates when his loan at Reims expires at the end of the season.

But the England Under-21 international has hinted that he is not too keen on reuniting with his Arsenal team-mates in the summer.

Speaking to Ligue 1’s official media, he said: “Yeah I mean, contractually I have to go back.

“Because the loan was only for one year so that was always the agreement.

“I’m not sure what is going to happen in the future. A lot could happen in football, a lot could change.

“And it just depends on the conversations we have between me and the club in the summer, and we’ll see what happens.”

When asked if he is considering staying at Reims, he said: “Yeah I mean there’s no door that’s closed.

“Of course I have had a good year here and to a lot of people it makes sense for me to come back here.

“So yeah I mean I don’t know what the future will bring. But definitely I would advise young players to come out here.

“It’s a really, really tough league, a league that will help you to improve.

“You get to play in crazy atmospheres. If you’re ready to take yourself out of your comfort zone, I would advise any young player, I would advise any young player to come here.”

Mikel Arteta has high hopes for Balogun and would hate losing the striker, especially considering that his 18-goal haul this season trumps that of Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah combined.

Having seen William Saliba blossom on loan in France last season, Balogun is flourishing as well.

But with Jesus and Nketiah currently ahead of him in the pecking order, it remains to be seen whether or not the hot prospect will hang around.
