Jadon Sancho is in a period of incredible form right now and he makes it look so easy, European football expert Kevin Hatchard has told talkSPORT.
The England forward registered his 50th Bundesliga assist in 99 games in Borussia Dortmund’s 3-0 win over Arminia Bielefeld on Saturday.
The 20-year-old also took his German top-flight goal tally to 36 with a second-half penalty as Dortmund climbed to fifth in the table.
Hatchard believes Sancho, who was linked with a £100million-plus move to Manchester United last summer, is ‘redefining the boundaries of what we thought was possible’.
He told the Trans Europe Express on talkSPORT: “What he’s done is he’s made the incredible seem mundane because he’s so consistent.
“I was on commentary for his game on Saturday, for Dortmund against Arminia Bielefeld, and he was a joy to watch.
“He was constantly looking to make things happen, always on the front foot, always looking to combine; he made the opening goal for Mahmoud Dahoud, which was his first goal in the league since 2018.
“In doing that, Sancho registered his 50th Bundesliga assist – now why is that important? The reason that’s important is that he’s the only player in Bundesliga history to do it in his first 100 games, and he’s the youngest player to ever reach that milestone.
“He’s eclipsed Thomas Muller in that particular category; to have produced 50 assists in 99 games and be 20 years old really is quite remarkable.
“What we shouldn’t forget as well is that he doesn’t just make goals… he’s also the youngest Bundesliga player to reach 35 goals.
“So he is redefining these records and redefining the boundaries of what we thought was possible.”
