Liverpool will look to start the last push towards the Premier League title with a win over Brighton this weekend.

The Reds are currently second behind Arsenal on goal difference, but this gameweek could prove to be a huge one for Jurgen Klopp‘s men.

This is because Manchester City host the Gunners on Sunday, meaning one or both of their title rivals will drop points.

Meanwhile, Brighton have failed to hit the heights of last year and have struggled with injuries and consistency.

But Roberto De Zerbi‘s men are one of several teams battling it out for a place in the top eight, and they will travel to Merseyside without any fear.

Liverpool vs Brighton: Klopp’s destiny

The dream of a quadruple in Klopp’s final season as Liverpool boss was ended before the international break by Manchester United.

The Reds lost 4-3 to their great rivals at Old Trafford in one of the best FA Cup ties you will ever see.

But that has to be forgotten about because there are two more trophies up for grabs.

The Premier League and Europa League are well within range for the Reds, and you can bet Klopp has his team fully focused for the run-in.

No matter what happens from here, the German will leave Anfield as a legend because of what he’s achieved.

But another Premier League title would be a sweet way for Klopp to leave, and that pursuit will continue this weekend against Brighton.

Liverpool vs Brighton: Team news

The hosts are expected to be without Andy Robertson after he picked up an ankle injury in midweek with Scotland.

They hope it’s not serious, but it’s likely to be enough to keep him out of this one.

Ibrahima Konate is fully fit and could come into the team for Jarell Quansah.

Curtis Jones has also returned to full training, but he might not be fit enough to start.

Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez both missed the international break to recover from knocks, so they should be involved in some way.

Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota are still out with knee issues.

Brighton also have plenty of injury concerns and will be without Jack Hinshlewood, Solly March and Kaoru Mitoma for the rest of the season.

But James Milner and Adam Lallana are in contention to feature against their former club.

Joao Pedro also stands a chance of being involved.

Liverpool vs Brighton: What has been said?

Former Reds striker Peter Crouch believes that Liverpool will win the Premier League.

Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: “I said Liverpool at the start of the season, and many people will say there is a bias there, and probably slightly right.

“Arsenal have kind of played their way back into the conversation; obviously, Manchester City will be favourites, considering their previous history.

“You would say it is a two-horse race, but Arsenal have put themselves back into the mix.

“I just think the amount of games they have played where they have won so convincingly and they get the injuries back, it is definitely a three-horse race.

“But I am going to stick with Liverpool; I still think they can do it.”
