One of the most hectic Premier League transfer windows in recent memory has closed but there’s still plenty of deadwood left lying around at some of the division’s top sides.

The likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United still have bloated squads full with a surplus of high-earning big names.

Windows in some of Europe’s top leagues still remain open though, presenting English teams with a final opportunity to finish off their clear-outs.

Russian Premier League clubs have has six days left to business, while Turkey has a day more, and there are even more opportunities off the continent.

West Brom have already made £16million selling Matheus Pereira to the Saudi Professional League, which has 17 days left in its window, while Tottenham recouped £11m by offloading Toby Alderweireld to Qatar, where there are 29 days left to do deals.

But which superstars could be on the move next? talkSPORT finds out…

Phil Jones

You could have been forgiven for forgetting he existed considering he hasn’t played a professional football match since January 2020, but he recently hit the headlines by refusing to give up his number four shirt to new Manchester United signing Raphael Varane.

Now in his 11th season at OId Trafford, the club are surely keen to move him on, but have seen their options dramatically reduced after the English window closed yesterday.

Ross Barkley

On loan at Aston Villa last season, he got his Villa Park career off to a flyer with goals against Liverpool and Leicester, but as the season wore on his game time almost evaporated.

Chelsea paid Everton £15m for the England international in 2017, but unless he’s happy to take one of the remaining options open, Barkley is likely to spend 2021/22 on his sofa.

Mohamed Elneny

Garnering interest from the Turkish Super Lig after a loan at Besiktas in 2019/20, Elneny’s Gunners career looks very close to ending.

The Egyptian international joined The Gunners for just £5m from Basel in 2016 but 132 appearances later, fans have clearly had enough of the midfielder.

Loris Karius

Life has been tough for the German after his infamous Champions League final performance in 2018.

Karius has returned to Liverpool after spending the previous two seasons at Besiktas and Union Berlin on loan.

Not only has he dropped behind Adrian in the running as Jurgen Klopp’s number two goalkeeper, but also academy graduate Caoimhin Kelleher, meaning an exit will surely come soon.

Karius’ career has really gone downhill since that disastrous night in Kyiv

Cenk Tosun

A Turkish international himself who spent the start of the year on loan at Besiktas, Tosun looks destined for a move back there.

Signed by Everton for £27m in 2018, the 30-year-old failed to make a name for himself on Merseyside or on loan at Crystal Palace, and there’s clearly no place for him under Rafael Benitez who recently signed Salomon Rondon.

Sead Kolasinac

Making his anticipated return to Schalke on loan from Arsenal in the January transfer window, it wasn’t long before Kolasinac was once again involved in drama, staging a coup against manager Christian Gross.

Kolasinac has featured twice for Arsenal in all competitions already this season, but will surely be offloaded as players return from injury.
