Having featured at Euro 2020, Rashford finally decided to have the operation before the beginning of the 2021/22 campaign.

He recently shared an image of his arm in a sling and his shoulder in a bandage, saying the surgery was successful.

“Thank you for all the well wishes,” Rashford posted. “I had my surgery on Friday morning and everything went very well.

“A little sore but other than that I’m feeling good. Hope you’re all having a great day!”

Both Rashford and United have so far refused to put a timeline on his recovery.

However, it is understood the winger could be back training next week ahead of a return to action in around 12 weeks time.

The Red Devils have been boosted by the signing of Jadon Sancho this summer, while Mason Greenwood will also return from the injury which ruled him out of Euro 2020.
