Pep Guardiola was furious with referee Paul Tierney and fourth official Mike Dean over the decision which saw James Milner remain on the pitch during Man City’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Sunday.

Despite a dominant first half, the Premier League champions twice went behind in the second period, but responded with two equalisers and salvaged a point at Anfield late on.

Guardiola was furious that Milner wasn’t sent off
He gestured for a card
Guardiola made it clear that he thought it should’ve been a second yellow

With the score locked at 1-1 on 74 minutes, City had a brilliant opportunity to seize control of the game.

Bernardo Silva attacked down the left and was brought down by a strong challenge from Milner, who’d already been booked.

Tierney blew for the foul, but opted not to give a second yellow and subsequent red card.

Guardiola, already angered by the decision not to award his side a first-half penalty, was apoplectic on the touchline.

Guardiola vented his anger at Dean
Dean told Guardiola to ‘calm down’…
…but this didn’t go down well

First, he shouted towards referee Tierney.

Quickly though, he instead directed his anger at fourth official Dean.

Guardiola shouted at Dean, gestured his incredulity at the decision and gestured for the card.

Dean looked unimpressed by the Spaniard and could be seen telling him to ‘calm down’.

Guardiola concluded by taking his jacket off in anger
He even re-enacted the tackle

Unsurprisingly, these words only provoked further anger from Guardiola who waved his hands in the direction of Dean before storming back to his dugout.

Once sat down, he continued to shout at the fourth official and then got up again to remove his jacket out of anger.

Ultimately, he left Anfield happy enough as Kevin De Bruyne earned City a point.
