The summer transfer window is fast approaching and Premier League clubs are busy finalising targets as the season approaches its conclusion.

This could be one of the busiest summer markets in a long time, with the likes of Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham expected to be very busy.

After a full year of crowds and a new TV deal set to kick in, we could be in for an exciting summer.

The transfer market doesn’t reopen officially until Friday, June 10 but that won’t stop clubs from getting their deals ready, like we’ve seen with Erling Haaland’s blockbuster move to Manchester City.

What are the other rumours and headlines? talkSPORT.com takes a look at the latest…

Tottenham

Tottenham want to make Romero and Kulusevski permanent additions

Spurs will look to kick off their spending by signing both Cristian Romero and Dejan Kulusevski permanently.

Fabrizio Romano believes that Antonio Conte sees both as key players for his squad next year, and their temporary deals will be turned permanent for a combined cost of £67.5million.

Kulusevski joined Spurs on loan from Juventus in January, while Romero signed in the summer from Atalanta.

Both have become vital in 2022, and completing this double swoop would be a great way to start Tottenham’s transfer window.

Darwin Nunez

Benfica’s Uruguayan striker Nunez is a wanted man

The race for Nunez could be one of the most exciting transfer battles in a long time, with Man United, Newcastle and Arsenal all linked.

The Uruguayan international had a sublime season in Portugal as he scored 34 goals in 41 appearances.

Six of these strikes came in the Champions League, so he has proven himself at the highest level and wants a move to the Premier League.

And now The Athletic are reporting that Benfica have lined up his replacement in Stuttgart forward Sasa Kalajdzic.

The Portuguese giants have also dropped their asking price to around £51m, which should interest a huge number of top-flight clubs.

Gabriel Jesus

The Manchester City striker has been linked with a move to Arsenal over the last couple of weeks, and it appears as if the Gunners are set to make their move soon.

Romano believes Arsenal will make an official proposal for the Brazilian in the ‘coming days’, as Mikel Arteta looks to sign a world-class striker.

Next year, Jesus’ game time could be limited at the Etihad, and he is looking for a way out.

Arsenal would guarantee him first-team football, but if they miss out on the Champions League, could he look elsewhere?

Dean Henderson

According to the Manchester Evening News, Newcastle want to bring Henderson to St James’ Park in the next phase of their project.

They claim the Toon are lining up a deal for the 25-year-old, who is very keen to get more minutes.

Newcastle did try to sign Henderson during the January window, and they are prepared to come back in for the former Sheffield United loanee.

However, any deal is more likely to be a loan because the goalkeeper’s contract doesn’t expire until 2025, and he is reportedly on £110,000 per week.

Paul Pogba

Pogba’s time at Old Trafford is all but over

It appears as if Pogba’s time with United is nearly over and a move back to Juventus looks to be on the cards for the Frenchman.

GOAL claim that the World Cup winner has been offered a three-year deal in Italy with the Old Lady.

Pogba’s contract with United expires at the end of the campaign, and there is no indication that Erik Ten Hag wants to keep him.

A move back to Italy makes sense for Pogba, and he’ll hope he can get back to his best after an overall disappointing spell in Manchester.
