Sergio Aguero has completed a free transfer to Barcelona just days after his Champions League final heartbreak with Manchester City.

Both City and Barca have now confirmed the deal, which includes a €100million (£86m) buyout clause.

The Argentina international flew directly from Porto to the Spanish city after the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea.

Aguero was left in floods of tears on the final day of the Premier League season, where his brace against Everton ensured he will leave the Etihad stadium with 260 goals in all competitions across an incredible decade.

Having completed his medical at the Hospital De Barcelona, the 32-year-old has now signed a one-year deal with the option of a second year to play for blaugrana.

The striker will fly out to his home country this evening to join up with the Argentina squad before their World Cup qualifying clash with Chile on Friday.

With the Copa America starting in less than a fortnight, Barca will officially unveil the striker to their fans on Saturday evening

It is understood fellow City player Eric Garcia will also be swapping Manchester for Catalonia, with the 20-year-old defender confirming his decision to move this summer, rather than sign a new deal.

He confirmed his move on Sunday, saying: “I have thought about my future, what I think is the best now. I think it’s a brave decision. I am very convinced of the step I have taken.”

Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum is also thought to be closing in on a free transfer move to the Spanish giants after five years on Merseyside and a plethora of trophies.

The Netherlands international will link up with former national team boss Ronald Koeman at Camp Nou.
