Manchester United fans are all in agreement over Marcel Sabitzer after his brilliant free-kick for Austria.

The midfielder, who is on loan at Old Trafford from Bayern Munich, started against Azerbaijan for Austria in a Euro 2024 qualifier.

And he has racked up two goals, the second coming from a beautiful free-kick just moments after half-time.

It has led to United fans begging the club to sign the 29-year-old on a permanent basis with his current deal expiring at the end of the season.

One fan said: “Sign him on not just from this game but since jan he’s been quality,” with another writing: “Sign the guy asap @ManUtd.”

A third posted: “I love this Guy, I just want him to stay with us.”

While a fourth tweeted: “I really really hope we sign him permanently.”

Sabitzer has made nine appearances for United since arriving on loan in January, scoring once in the FA Cup against Fulham.

But he has made just three starts in the Premier League while that has not stopped Austria manager Ralf Rangnick, who coached United last year, from putting the midfielder in his starting XI against Azerbaijan.

And it has worked well with Sabitzer scoring the opener after 27 minutes before setting up Michael Gregoritsch to double the lead just two minutes later.

Whether the Austrian signs for United at the end of the season remains to be seen while there has been a change of management at his parent club.

Julian Nagelsmann, who also managed him at RB Leipzig, was sacked on Friday and replaced by Thomas Tuchel in a whirlwind 24 hours at Bayern Munich.
