West Ham United have completed their second deadline day piece of business by signing Alex Kral on a season-long loan from Spartak Moscow.

Having completed the permanent signing of Nikola Vlasic from CSKA Moscow on Tuesday morning, David Moyes has once again strengthened his midfield options.

The Czech star was welcomed by his compatriots Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal, who joined last season and enjoyed excellent debut seasons.

Kral, 23, was linked with a move to the London Stadium earlier in the summer before appearing at the European Championships.

However, after an inauspicious campaign, the rumours quickly dissipated and it seemed as though a deal was dead.

With Declan Rice and Soucek likely to remain the first choice options in midfield for the Hammers, Kral represents a significant signing given their Europa League exploits this summer.

Despite pursuing Jesse Lingard all summer, it appears as though a deal for the Manchester United midfielder is dead in the water.

talkSPORT understand that West Ham wanted to bring their former loan star back to the London Stadium, but were unwilling to meet United’s £25million valuation.
