Merseyside neighbours Liverpool and Everton won’t have to wait long to renew their rivalry in the Premier League next season.
The Reds almost faced the prospect of starting a Premier League season without their near neighbours for the first time ever.
But the Toffees dramatically avoided relegation on the final day of last campaign with a 1-0 win over Bournemouth.
And Sean Dyche’s side will look to perform better in the first Merseyside derby of the new season having failed to beat Liverpool last term.
The two teams drew 0-0 at Goodison Park in September before Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool ran out 2-0 winners in the reverse fixture five months later.
When are the Merseyside derbies in the 2023/24 season?
Liverpool host Everton at Anfield on Saturday, October 21.
The two Merseyside rivals then go their separate ways for five months before the reverse fixture at Goodison Park.
The second meeting between them takes place on Saturday, March 16, 2024.
Both kick-offs are set for 3pm at the moment but are subject to radio and TV picks.
