Jamie O’Hara believes Tottenham are a more attractive proposition for new signings this summer than north London rivals Arsenal.

The former Spurs midfielder was discussing his old club’s transfer plans going into the summer transfer window, and wondered: ‘Why would you go to Arsenal?’

As it stands, the Gunners are favourites to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League this season, although both Tottenham and Manchester United still hold genuine aspirations of trumping Mikel Arteta’s side to the final Champions League spot.

Those final positions could be key when it comes to having first pick on the summer’s top transfer targets, with the lure of Europe’s top table likely to be a key advantage in any negotiations.

But, taking a top-four finish out of the equation, O’Hara told Jason Cundy exactly why he believes Tottenham are a more attractive destination than the Gunners.

The Sports Bar host said on talkSPORT: “Say Manchester United sneak into the top-four and Arsenal and Tottenham are going for the same player, where does he go?

“It’s Tottenham. If it’s Tottenham or Arsenal, you’re going to Tottenham.

“Number one, Tottenham have got an incredible stadium, one of the greatest stadiums in the world, [they’ve got] the best training ground in the world, one of the best managers in the world, one of the best strikers in the world, one of the best left wingers in the world.

“If you’re looking at a football club that you’d go to, you’d go to Tottenham. Why would you go to Arsenal? Unless you’re Ben White from Brighton…”

He replied: “But Tottenham are also the biggest bottlers in the world!”

Of course, one player referenced in O’Hara’s sell of Tottenham was Harry Kane but, according to the striker, he’s not looking beyond making a strong finish to the season before deciding his future.

“Obviously my main focus is just finishing this season first and foremost,” Kane recently said.

“We’re still in competition for the top four. I can’t control what will happen in the future. It’s a big year for everyone, not just me.

“It’s about controlling what I can control and doing what I can on the pitch. It’s important over the summer to stay focused on that and look forward to a fantastic tournament.”

Asked whether he has spoken to Antonio Conte about his future, Kane responded: “I’m not going to get into personal discussion between me and the manager.

“My main focus is to finish the season as well as possible. We have a big race to finish top four.”
