NCAA Consumer Protection Officers were called in to mediate and deescalate the situation. The passenger was informed of the severity of his actions, particularly the threats of violence, which violated aviation safety protocols. “The pilot insisted on not flying the passenger for safety reasons,” Achimugu stated.After being escorted back to the terminal, the passenger reportedly calmed down and apologized for his behavior. NCAA officials confirmed that he would be permitted to board a later evening flight, provided no further issues arise. Achimugu stressed that threats of violence against cabin crew are unacceptable and urged passengers to resolve grievances through official channels. “If you are not satisfied with the quality of service you have received, kindly report to the NCAA Consumer Protection Department via http://cpd.ncaa.gov.ng, and a resolution will be reached,” he wrote. He also highlighted the shared responsibility of passengers and crew to maintain a safe and respectful environment onboard.The NCAA’s swift response and the passenger’s eventual apology may help prevent similar occurrences, but the episode serves as a reminder of the need for mutual respect to ensure safe skies for all travelers.
