Maiduguri to Face Total Blackout From Nov 6–9 for Power Plant Maintenance

Maiduguri and surrounding communities in Borno State will experience a complete power outage from Thursday, 6 November to Sunday, 9 November 2025, due to scheduled maintenance at the Maiduguri Emergency Power Plant.In a statement, the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) described the shutdown as a routine operational requirement aimed at ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and optimal performance of the generation facility supplying electricity to the city and its environs.NISO appealed for the patience, understanding, and cooperation of affected electricity customers, assuring that power supply will be fully restored immediately upon completion of the maintenance work.
