1.The Adamawa State House of Assembly has commenced impeachment proceedings against Governor Murtala Nyako, and his Deputy, Bala Ngilari. The Speaker of the House, Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri has ordered the Clerk of the House to serve Governor Nyako and his Deputy notices of impeachment “for gross misconduct.”

2. The money laundering charge preferred against the eldest son of the late military dictator, Mohammed Abacha has been withdrawn. Mohammed who was accused of concealing the sum of N446.3 billion allegedly stolen from the national treasury between 1995 and 1998 has been freed from the charge. This was announced yesterday by the Attorney- General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke, SAN.

3. The Sudanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Amb Tagelsir Ali, has said that the extradition process of Aminu Ogwuche, the suspected mastermind of the Nyanya bomb blasts, would be concluded very soon. While speaking with newsmen in Abuja, Ali said that both Sudan and Nigeria had similar procedures regarding extradition, hence the process would soon be concluded.

4. Delegates at the ongoing National Conference, yesterday unanimously recommended life imprisonment for fake drugs dealers.

5. It has been confirmed that 21 people were killed in the explosion which occurred at a football viewing centre in Damaturu, Yobe State on Tuesday. A medical source said on Wednesday that 21 dead bodies and 27 injured victims were received after the blast.

6. Following a protest by the students of the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, over hike in school fees, the school has been shut indefinitely. The Public Relations Officer of the OAU, Mr. Abiodun Olanrewaju, in a statement disclosed that the management took the decision just to prevent a breakdown of law and order.

7. Aggrieved pioneer member of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Tom Ikimi, Wednesday blamed his problem with the party on the dictatorial tendency of some of the party leaders, including Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. He said Tinubu forced John Odigie-Oyegun on the party after he had threatened “fire and brimstone”.

8. The Ekiti State government had on Wednesday opposed the arrest and arrignment of its Commissioner for Integration and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Mr. Funminiyi Afuye as well as other citizens of the state for charges of terrorism. Briefing newsmen on the issue, Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mr Tahoe Ekundayo said that the State Executive Council had resolved that the charge of terrorism levelled against Afuye and 14 other citizens of the state was a flagrant abuse of the 2013 Terrorism Prevention Act.

9. Are Musulumi of Yoruba land and business mogul, Alhaji Azeez Arisekola Alao is dead. It was disclosed yesterday that the religious leader died in his London home on Wednesday. He passed on the day he was expected to fly into the country. He died at the age of 69.

10. There are wide speculations across the various newspapers that Coach Stephen Keshi may likely drop Osaze Odinwingie at the Super Eagles next match against Bosnia. To be dropped alongside Osaze is Ramon Azeez. Report says the performance of the duo is said to be below average, from Keshi’s point of view
