Nigerian Newspapers: 10 things you need to know this Tuesday morning

1. It was a terrible scene in Gombe state on Monday when a female suicide bomber blew up herself close to the stadium where president Jonathan had his campaign earlier. Report says no fewer than two people were killed in the blast, while over 20 sustained varied degrees of injuries.

2. The Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, has cautioned Ex-militants from the Niger Delta against threatening former Chief of Army Staff, Gen. TY Danjuma. The forum said the threat on the life of Danjuma was equally an affront on the person of President Goodluck Jonathan.

3. The Police in Rivers state on Monday confirmed that there was a coordinated attack on four High Courts in Rivers state. It announced that the High court branches in Isiokpo, Ahaoda, Degema and the headquarters in port Harcourt were all bombed by some unknown assailants.

4. The presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, General Muhammadu Buhari has said that he will ban the importation of rice and tomatoes as well as other basic items if elected into office. He said the ban would be aimed at strengthening the nation’s economy through local agriculture.

5. First Lady, patience Jonathan has denied media report that she was paid N3bn by the NDDC before the approval of the 2015 budget for the agency. She said the report was empty as the passage of budget was the sole responsibility of the National Assembly.
