Kylian Mbappe was absent from France’s full training session on Tuesday.

The striker was understood to be working in the recovery room, as reported by talkSPORT’s Nigel Adderley.

There has been no official word from the French camp as to whether the 23-year-old is carrying an injury at all.

He is due to face England in the quarter-final of the World Cup on Saturday at 7pm – with commentary of the match live on talkSPORT.

Mbappe has been one of the standout stars from the tournament in Qatar so far.

He leads the race for the Golden Boot with five goals so far.

The Paris Saint-Germain star netted twice in the 3-1 victory over Poland in the last-16 to book a date with the Three Lions.

Speaking to the media after being named man-of-the-match in that win, Mbappe said: “Of course, this World Cup is an obsession for me, it’s the competition of my dreams. I have built my season around this competition and around being ready both physically and mentally for it.

“I wanted to come here ready and so far things are going well, but we are still a long way from the objective we set and that I set.

“The only objective for me is to win the World Cup which means now to win the quarter-final.

“That is what I am dreaming of. I didn’t come here to win the Golden Ball. That is not why I am here. I am here to win and help the French national team.”
