Patrick Bamford has been brilliant this season for Leeds.

However, when it comes to Fantasy Premier League, he’s ‘having a bit of a mare’!

The 27-year-old has been a relevation for the Whites on their return to the top-flight.

He has 11 Premier League goals to his name this season, having scored – as well as claimed two assists – in the 3-1 victory over Leicester on Sunday.

FPL players with Bamford in their team were no doubt rubbing their hands together at his 150-point haul in that game, while the 83,833 managers who transferred him out for Dominic Calvert-Lewin were no doubt seething.

The 27-year-old is a particular favourite of FPL players, in 47.3 per cent of teams, having delivered an incredible 119 points so far this season – Tottenham’s Harry Kane is the only striker with more.

Bamford has himself in his own FPL team but admitted to talkSPORT he can’t seem to make the right selection of captain.

Speaking on the Breakfast Show, Bamford conceded: “I’ve been having a couple of sticky weeks. I had myself captain for the Newcastle game where I basically assisted their goal.

“I thought I had to take myself off this week and had (Heung-min) Son as captain and he did nothing.

“I triple captained (Mohamed) Salah a couple of weeks ago for the double game week and he did nothing… then scored two yesterday.

“I’m having a bit of a mare.”

FPL players up and down the country will be feeling Bamford’s pain as the Tottenham and Liverpool stars are two of the most selected players in the game.

Son has scored 12 goals and added six assists this season, delivering a mammoth 143 FPL points.

Meanwhile, Salah has three more on 146 thanks to his 15 goals and three assists.
