The Spanish goalkeeper is thought to have tested positive for COVID-19 in the build-up to the clash, with numerous reports suggesting Dean Henderson is set to start in goal for the Red Devils.

According to the Manchester Evening News, there are suggestions that De Gea’s first test might’ve been a false positive.

The 31-year-old must now provide a negative PCR test to gain clearance from the Premier League.

Individuals in the UK are no longer required to self-isolate after testing positive for coronavirus, although it remains recommended under government guidance.
