From who’d be your best man to who you’d let pick your outfit, most people have a friend they could rely on in any scenario.

But do footballers have the same faith in their teammates and managers?

Well that is the case at Stamford Bridge, according to Ruben Loftus-Cheek, as he revealed in a game of Chelsea SOS with talkSPORT’s Laura Woods.

The Breakfast show host sat down with the midfielder ahead of Graham Potter’s side’s first match back after the international break against Aston Villa on Saturday.

But before getting down to the football, Woodsy put a series of quick-fire questions to him, asking to name a teammate or manager, past or present, that sprung to mind in certain situations.

Despite the size of the Blues’ current squad, there are a few stars the 27-year-old would call upon on multiple occasions.

When asked who he’d trust to help him make an excuse up for being late for training, the England international said: “Maybe Hakim [Ziyech]. That’s my boy. I know he’d sort it out, he’ll get it done.”

Woodsy then quizzed him on whether that was because the Moroccan was sneaky or trustworthy, leading Loftus-Cheek to reply: “Trustworthy.”

Ziyech came up again when Loftus-Cheek was asked who he’d rely on to organise his stag do, with the World Cup semi-finalist apparently already having night out planning on his CV.

But when it came to dating advice, Loftus-Cheek’s choice may surprise some Chelsea fans.

“Maybe [Marc] Cucurella,” he laughed, before adding: “I need some advice on how to make her laugh.”

And the Spaniard was picked once again when it came to Loftus-Cheek being asked to pick a quiz show partner.

“Cucurella. I’m thinking more for the bants,” he laughed.

Woodsy then switched it up and asked the Londoner whom he’d least like to get stuck in a lift with.

Loftus-Cheek doesn’t quite warm to the idea of being stuck for a prolonged period in a small space with Conte

“It’s got to be a manager because that’d be really awkward,” he said. Then after plenty of deliberation, he said: “Maybe Antonio Conte.”

The last question Woodsy threw at Loftus-Cheek was the same fired at Anthony Joshua recently: Who is your celebrity crush?

The British boxing star revealed his ideal woman would be singer Beyonce – watch out Jay-Z.

However Loftus-Cheek had other ideas…

After being asked the question, following a brief pause, the player joked: “Laura Woods!”

It was all in jest, as Woodsy laughed in her response. “An exceptional answer!” She then signed off with: “It’s been an absolute pleasure and I’ll get your number later!”
